Visitors approach the home’s picturesque entrance via a bridge over a dry creek bed under a lush canopy of trees. As night falls, a fire pit in the backyard, overlooking the pool, comes to life. The surrounding trees are elegantly uplit from both sides, ensuring their beauty can be appreciated from anywhere on property.
We think the subtle touches set this project apart. Our string lights, designed to blend seamlessly with the tree line, remain concealed, creating a cozy and enchanting atmosphere. Step lights, recessed under stones, offer safe passage without glaring into your eyes as you enjoy a dip in the pool.
Of course, every project has its share of challenges. In this case, the main hurdles were the existing trees at the poolside seating area. Pouring concrete piers for the bistro light’s poles proved to be tricky as we prioritized preserving the root system of these mature trees. As always, collaboration with subcontractors was crucial to this delicate process.
Furthermore, we tackled the complex task of running underground electrical connections to each tree, so our landscape lighting design seamlessly integrated into the home’s smart lighting control system. We even used an air spade to trench through the tree’s root zone without severing vital roots root systems.
The end result is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, where the beauty of tradition meets the brilliance of modern lighting.
