BUILT FOR THE GAME AFTER DARK:
fThe Huddle at Cowboys Golf Club was designed to be fun, memorable, and unmistakably Cowboys. With 18 holes of NFL-themed putting, an iconic Airstream bar at the turn, and a final hole inspired by AT&T Stadium, there was already plenty happening during the day.
Our job was to make sure none of it disappeared when the sun went down.
THE COURSE
First and foremost, this is a putting course, so the lighting had to extend the life of this property.
Targeted floodlighting keeps each green clearly illuminated and playable without overwhelming the surrounding space. The goal was visibility where players need it, while still allowing the rest of the landscape to feel layered and intentional.
THE AIRSTREAM
At the turn, the polished aluminum Airstream becomes a natural gathering point. Warm uplighting brings out the texture and reflection of the trailer, while giving it enough presence to feel like a destination within the course, not simply a stop between holes.
THE TREES
The mature tree canopy allowed us to build depth beyond the putting greens themselves.
Strategically placed uplighting pulls the trees into the nighttime experience, creating a backdrop around the course and helping define the space without making it feel overlit.
THE 18TH HOLE
The final hole is quite a statement.
Designed as a nod to the Cowboys' home stadium, the lighting needed to showcase undulating turf and pay homage to the namesake while still supporting play. At night, it becomes the natural finish to the entire experience and one of the most memorable moments on the course.
COORDINATION FROM THE START
A project like this works because the lighting is considered early.
We collaborated with WinterGreen Synthetic Grass and Southern Botanical throughout the project to coordinate electrical runs, fixture locations, underground infrastructure, and installation timing.
The result is a course that doesn't simply stay open after dark. It was designed to be experienced that way.
