The owners of this newly built home wanted to create an event space in their own backyard, so they brought in Signature Illumination Designs to help transform their outdoor space into the perfect spot to host guests and wind down after a long day. Along with our partner Outdoor Dynamics, we elevated this space to bring the homeowners exactly what they wanted.
We strategically installed uplighting along the edges of the yard, both brightening otherwise dark spots and highlighting the landscaping. This also illuminates the pool area, keeping it nice and light no matter how dark it is– perfect for a late night swim. This technique creates a sophisticated look and elevates the overall design of the space, creating a great backdrop for parties and events.
In this area, we wanted to keep the focus on the show-stopping fire pit. We kept additional lighting on the home and fence-line minimal and added hidden tape lighting to the fire pit, adding an extra layer of depth to the fire's light. The intimate lighting in this area makes it the perfect spot for late-night chats with a bottle of wine.
Working in a space with such unique and stunning design features makes creating a lighting design easy. Our goal was to take those already existing design features and bring them to the next level. In the L-shaped pergola that makes up the focal point of the yard, we added subtle downlights that keep the sitting area bright. These and the uplights along the fence-line create a spa-like experience that enhances the striking design of the pool area.
